There’s been a lot happening recently, well, since like April.. Hence this blog being rather neglected.
So I thought I’d do a quick roundup of some topics to bring us up to speed.
happenings
recently there has been:
- august AlgoRhythms - which was amazing, couldn’t have asked for more. Such great vibes and lots of fun and different expression
- live coded audio workshop. this could be a whole blogpost in itself. Suffice to say it seemed to go really well and nadya via proxy did an excellent job of co-hosting
- AlgoLush - this blew my mind. It was something different and I honestly surprised myself by how much I enjoyed it. I think we’ll do more. It was put together for Nū aka Fetle who was in the UK, so the theme was made around that. I did the ticket scanning so could watch everything unfold from my perch.
- the last algoravioli. This was my favourite one, there was a great energy in the room. part radical art-experiment, part jam session, all amazing
less is more
I told myself earlier this summer that I would try to do less starting from September.
Here’s what I will do:
- bring projector and mixer to AlgoRhythms each month and help set up
- publish monthly luma/stripe accounts
- support others in putting on events with advice and tech/logistics
- book venue for next algolush
- possibly occasional meetup, but someone might be sorting this at newspeak house, oooh
why do less? well it creates space for others to fill, which is important. also, I’ve increasingly realised that I have other priorities I’ve been neglecting and that are becoming quite urgent. sometimes you need an lfo for your lpf…
I’ll probably still do a lot though, cos I love this stuff too much <3
we’ll probably do another errorcamp next year? this one was another phenomenal success, and I’ll help out where I can to have another awesome one!
I’ve still been doing a lot of music and making inroads on more collaboration. I’ll cover this and more in the next blog post :)
